STEPS FOR LOADING PETROPHYSICS INC. SYNTHETIC SEISMOGRAM DATA TO SMT PROJECT:

OPTION (A)  INPUT OF TIME/DEPTH VALUES FROM THE CORRECTED SYNTHETIC(Obtain values from .TXT Extension file):
Input as you would normally for any vel. survey or Time/Depth pairs by using the menu from "Wells/Import...Local and Shared TD Chart source..." by browsing & selecting the desired Petrophysics Inc. .TME file & by Selecting the First Column (Two Way Time) and the Last Column (usually STVD (Seismic True Vertical Depth)).

OPTION (B)  LOADING SYNTHETIC TRACE/LOG CURVES:(.TME Extension file)
(1)  Select menu: "Wells/Import...Synthetic Seismograms..." & choose "Import from File" then click "Brouse..." with "All Files (*.*)" as file type near the bottom & highlight the desired Petrophysics Inc .TME file.  Click "Open".  Click "Next >".
(2)  The next Menu: "Unique Well Identifier Length Specification" usually defaults to "Use UWI as it exists in import data (UWI in import data will not be altered)".  Make sure this option is checked & Click "Next >".
(3)  The next Menu: "Load Synthetic Seismogram Files:<file location>..." requires selection of "Lines to Skip: ______" (usually Enter the number 2) & Check the box for "Time (seconds) and make sure values for the first column (TIME(S)) are covered properly and then Check the box for "Amplitude Value" and make sure the values for the second column (+SYN) are covered properly.  Click "OK".
The next subMenu:  "Select Well and Borehole for Data" allows you to Type-In the name of the synthetic (such as "ABC#1abc_Syn") & select "Well Name:" by clicking the down arrowhead & highlighting the well name that the synthetic will be applied to.  (The item "Borehole: __________" will usually have a default selection so you usually won't have to change this.)  Click "OK".
(4)  The next Menu:  "Data Import Options" allows you to select the import options.  Generally, Choose the default "Add and Update Data".  Click "Next >".
(5)  The next Menu:  "Selection Summary":  Click "Next >".
(6)  The next Menu:  "Import Report":  Click "Finish".

(C) ACTIVATE/DISPLAY/SCALE SYNTHETIC ON SEISMIC SECTION:
Make sure the newly imported synthetic is activated/turned-on/displayed by choosing menu "Wells/Synthetic Management" & Highlight/Select the synthetic (or Select "All") from the Working Set & Click "OK".
DIGITIZE A LINE through the well in Map Window & make sure the resulting Seismic Window is activated/highlighted showing the subject wellstick.
(1)  Select menu: "Synthetic Display Options..." ("Synthetic Seismogram Parameters") and Enter a numerical value of 5 or 10 for "Scale factor:______".  You may change the "No. of Traces:_____" to more than 1 if you wish.  Click "Apply" & look at the Seismic Window to see if the synthetic appears next to the wellstick.  If the settings for this are acceptable, then Click "OK".
